Herman J. Bigi

is a Marine Corps veteran, former Washington County, Pennsylvania District Attorney, Solicitor to the Washington County Commissioners, Solicitor to the Washington County Controller, and Solicitor to the Tax Claim Bureau, plus a successful attorney in private practice who has decades of exemplary service to his clients.

Bigi confined his practice to personal injury, first certified in Civil Trial Advocacy in 1994 and has been re-certified four times.

Bigi was one of the founders and first president of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Southwestern Pennsylvania. He is a member of the prestigious Million Dollar Advocates Forum, recognized as the most prestigious group of trial lawyers in the United States. Membership is limited to attorneys who have won million-dollar verdicts, awards, or settlements where the attorneys served as lead counsel.

Bigi is licensed to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania, Federal District Court of Western Pennsylvania, and the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia.

Bigi’s awards are numerous, which include the Humanitarian Award for his community service presented by the Washington County Bar Association in November of 2018. In 2005, Bigi was nominated by the Italian American Society of Washington County as Man of the Year. He received the same award in 2006 from the Italian Heritage Society of Allegheny County. Through Bigi’s work in Boy Scouts, he has received every award given to adult scout leaders. He has been awarded the Cross of St. George from the Roman Catholic Church recognizing his work with youth. He was proud to serve his country and continues to be active in several veteran’s organizations.
